Amnesia (Chapter 4)

Terra Ixos, one of the most secluded and mysterious terras in all of Atmos. Very few maps have this terra's location, maps that don't, lead people to believe that this cloudy terra doesn't exist; and that's what the people of Ixos want people to believe.

This terra is the only place in Atmos you can find a Naktis crystal; A crystal that is only visible at night, and has the power to both destroy and to heal.

This is where the Dark Ace started his search for the cure to the Cyclonian dart that hit Jinny.  He would have to wait until nightfall, but by the time he reached terra Ixos it was already late evening. Ace had to be cautious; the people of Ixos didn't like intruders. Ace put on a cloak to hide his identity and went down to ask about the nearest Naktis crystal.

"There is one, past the triplet caves close to the top of the mountain by a mossy rock that looks like a nose." Said an old, haggard lady who ran her own herb business on the terra.

The Dark Ace turned his head toward the woman "What's the catch?"

"The Bogbears are ten times hungrier this time of year." The woman said with a twisted smile.

"I can handle them trust me." Ace returned with his twisted smile.


Back on the Falcon…

"Minnie what's out status?" Skyler said when Minnie came out of Jinny's room.

"We don't have a lot of time. She has a little under a day, we had better start looking for a cure." She said grimly.

Jaden came walking down the hall, his face sick with worry. "Do you think it would be alright if I- " Jaden gestured to the room.

"Go ahead." Minnie opened the door and let Jaden in while she stayed outside.

Jaden walked over to where Jinny was laying. "Hey, how're you holding up?" He said trying to seem cheerful.

Jinny's voice was barely audible "Not too great."

"Well, maybe you should rest." Jaden was trying to keep back tears. He squeezed her hand and headed for the door.

"Jaden, wait." Jinny said from across the room. "Stay with me a while…"

Jaden walked over "Sure. I can do that." He brushed some hair from her face and he started to cry, he fell to his knees. "I'm so sorry, I should have been there. I should have been able to protect you. Why wasn't I?"

Before he could continue she said "Shh, just be with me now."

He stood up and pulled her weak body close to him. "The others are finding a cure; you're going to be fine. Just, please hang in there."

When he was sure Jinny had fallen asleep he wept for a while longer. He left the room to join the others who were waiting outside. "I'm going to Cyclonia."

"What? Alone?" Skyler asked as if it was the most foolish thing.

"Yes. I'm going to find that smelly dung-faced talon and rip him to shreds."

"Jaden you're just angry, I think you need to think about this and calm down a bit."

"I'm done thinking, my sister is in there dying and I can't do anything about it. At least this way I feel like I'm helping." Jaden said with his voice raised.

"Jaden I'm not letting you go." Skyler said in her strong leader tone "What if the Cyclonians attack again? And do you really want to be away from Jinny at this point? What if she-"  Skyler didn't finish. She covered her mouth in shame.

"She isn't going to." Jaden glared and walked away.

Jaden was in the hanger bay preparing his skimmer when Nyota came by. "So, you're going even though Skyler told you not to?" She asked.

"I have to." Jaden said not stopping to look at her.

"No, you just feel like you have to but in reality you know you have to stay here and protect her."

"Yeah, because that worked out so well the first time." Jaden said sarcastically.

"Well if you're not going to listen to anyone" Nyota took in a breath and released it "at least let me come with you."

Jaden stopped and looked up at Nyota. He hugged her and tears started filling his eyes again "Thank you."
